Fall Fashion Find: Merona Mackenzie Suede Wedge Pumps

It seems that every time Target launches a new high-end collection these, I go running in expecting greatness... and leaving with things NOT part of the celebrity collaborations. Such was the case a few weeks ago when I went to my local Target in search of the Philip Lim collection. Red card and additional 5% pharmacy savings coupon in hand, I was gonna' buy me a sweater.

But there was a mistake and my local store never even ended up getting the collection.

All was not lost! As I walked around searching, I happened upon the shoe area where I found these suede wedges from the standard Target Merona brand that looked like just the shoe I had been looking for.

I will admit, being the label whore that I am, I was suspect. But I also had been *NEEDING* new shoes and for $30 threw the army green ones into my cart... and didn't take them out last minute like I normally do with non-essentials when my bills climbs past a "certain number."

And? I love these shoes. LOVE.

They are high enough to give me a good lift, but not too high that I'm teetering around. They are comfortable too - the wedge isn't too steep and the insides not too hard. They did pinch around my toes the first day I wore them, but by day 2 were broken in. And the best part? They don't look like $30 shoes.

I think I may need them in black too....

{not so} Wordless Wednesday: Me Time

Last month I bought Lavender scented bath salts at Target with the intent of soaking in the bath before bed when I have some extra time. I finally opened them last night.

Me time is something I don't have a lot of these days. I also haven't had a lot of time to fully bond with my new GalaxyNX Smart Camera from Samsung. So I combined the two thing that I haven't had time for.

And rocked out to some of my favorite songs from the late 80's.

It was a good night.

*disclosure: Samsung gave me the new GalaxyNX smart camera to participate in the #imagelogger program

HALLOWEEN TIME! Knotts Berry Farm's Kid Friendly Camp Spooky

Growing up in So. Cal, getting to go to Knott's Scary Farm at Halloween is like a rite of passage - it's the thing to do. One that scared the crap out of me for years to come. Since then, I had a bit of a "fear" of Knott's at Halloween... but last year I was invited to spend the day at "Camp Spooky" and realized that while at night it's all goblins and monsters, weekend days in October are actually very kid friend - and a whole 'lotta fun.

This daytime, non-scare celebration celebrates "cheer rather than fear" with  activities and of course, trick-or-treating.

Kids can take part in Snoopy’s Costume Party and show off their costume or watch Charlie Brown’s Spooktacular Show or explore the wacky hijinks of the Monster Factory, a fun interactive maze for the whole family in which the little ones create the things that go bump in the night.
Also included with theme park admission, kids can fill their goodie bag with sweet treats given out at five Trick-or-Treating locations in Camp Spooky. And finally at the “Creepy Crawly Critter Cave” Knott’s park naturalists will amaze with slithery, slimy, creepy, crawly critters.
Knott's Berry Farm in October is quickly becoming a tradition and is one of the kid's favorite theme park these days.

*disclosure: GigaSavvy invited my family to join them at Camp Spooky for a private event and is providing admission to the theme park.

My 4-Day Late #Emmys Recap: Brought to you by MomSmack, Spellbinders and Champagne

Yes. This Emmy wrap-up report is being published a good four days post Emmys.

I'm good like that. HipMamaB is ALL about what's CURRENT.

And apparently I'm losing my edge.

Here's my story. It's been a busy few weeks, so Sunday I slept. A lot. I had grand plans of getting up and writing all the posts that I need to write, hitting up the Dailey Method and then coming home to enjoy the Emmy's with my girl Nicole IRL and the MomSmack mamas on Twitter. But in the end a massive wave of exhaustion overtook me and I barely made it to the grocery store to buy milk.

My favorite part of any award show is the red carpet, and I was really disappointed to find only one channel covering it. Don't get me wrong, I love the E! coverage, but I need to be able to flip back and forth when they are talking to some boring MAN about their suit rather than a woman analyzing her dress. Sexist? A little.

I love the clothes. I love the dresses and all the sparkles.

This year I think my nods to best dressed go to Tina Fey (on trend in BLUE), Taylor Shilling in goldish/white/pearl and even though she needs to eat a hamburger (or 20. With fries.), Claire Danes' dress was stunning.

And? My favorite moments from the show in GIFs.

Best. Speech. Ever.

The Veep

The photobomb

And pretty much Amy and Tina just need to host everything, together, forever the end.

I had tons of fun sharing my random opinions and thoughts with MomSmack crew and I want to send a HUGE shout out to SPELLBINDERS for the bracelet that they sent me that was actually a piece IN THE EMMY SWAG BAG!

This bracelet is by Spellbinders which is a family-owned and run craft business founded on the principles of inspiring beauty and creativity in all. Their passion for style, glamour and elegance drives everything they do and, along with A Gilded Life to create the bracelet you see here.

*disclosure: I was compensated for this post, and for participation in the MomSmack twitter party during the Emmys.
